Tallow is an old time favourite for cooking and baking. From pies and pastries to crispy chips, its uses are unlimited and those who use will tell you it adds incredible flavour to the dishes they prepare. We love the flavour and crispness tallow adds to our pie pastry, and use it in both sweet and savoury recipes.
You can confidently use it instead of your regular oil of choice its incredibly stable when heated and offers fantastic health benefits.
PS: Tallow can be stored at room temperature for up to 9 months and does not need to be kept in a fridge. Refrigerating tallow will extend its shelf life for up to a year. It can also be frozen and then defrosted when needed. Some recipes call for frozen tallow, our favourite.
